When to Install TermiPore Reticulation System ?
Secure at Foundation
As can be seen from these pictures, TermiPore Pipes can be installed at foundation level, or even at ground or plinth level. Termites, also known as ‘silent destroyers’, often make their way under the ground and inflict damage to the foundation and weaken the structure.
It is a myth that only wooden structures are at risk from termites. Termites also make their way through plaster, metal and other materials. They can make tunnels and bore their way through most types of structures. By the time, the damage is evident on the surface, it is too late and also too difficult to treat and control effectively.
Thousands of termites live in a colony, and even after a loss of a large percentage of colony members or even after the loss of the queen bee, those left behind re-organize and can once again multiply and flourish their colony in no time. This means, recurrence after treatment is easily possible. Thereby a need for termite treatment at intermittent intervals is a must. Best way to solve this is to lay an Anti-termite Reticulation System at the foundation level, or at plinth/ground level. Having this installation in place will enable you to effectively treat the ground below with termiticide at periodic intervals. This is the best way to prevent termite and never reach a stage of damage control!
Strengthen During Tiling
When Anti-termite Reticulation System is not laid at foundation or ground level, you may not have a barrier to prevent termites. Nothing to worry, you can still save yourself from loss due to termites. You can install TermiPore Reticulation Pipes before laying the tiles.
Once termites make their way up from beneath the ground, they enter inside and damage your interiors by feeding on the furniture and other material inside. Stop them from entering inside. Create a barrier below your floor-tiles and termites will not be able to make their way up and inside your property, thus protecting your precious interiors.
Defend after Construction
You have purchased the property after construction and now there is no scope to install TermiPore at foundation or plinth/ground level or even under the tiles, because the construction is already completed.
Does that mean you will now be vulnerable to termite attacks? Not at all! There still is a way out. You can still protect your premises and defend it from termite attack even after construction. You can create a safe barrier by installing TermiPore all around the periphery of the constructed property and also around the inside or outside border of the fence of your property.
Just dig a narrow trench around the periphery, install TermiPore Reticulation Pipes, and fill the trench back! Voila, you have a solid barrier to prevent termites from entering your premises. Termites can travel for almost 70 meters; they can make way underground from neighboring areas/properties to your property and then wreak havoc in your premises. Why wait till they make way to your property and inflict irreparable damage to your premises. Defend your property, lay TermiPore around the periphery and safeguard yourself for decades!
Regardless of when you install TermiPore Reticulation Pipes, the principles and method of installation remain the same.
How to Install TermiPore Pipes ?
Installing TermiPore Reticulation System is a simple process. It is a simple network across the area, in a net like pattern.
Along with the Pipes, we also provide all the necessary accessories such as elbows, T-jointers, connectors, fixing hooks, plain pipes, end-plugs and junction boxes.
Lay TermiPore on a bed of sand and use fixing hooks and cable ties to secure the pipes in place. Use elbows at sharp corners, T joints at cross sections and test after installation. After testing cover the pipe with sand to ensure it is not in direct contact with cement. Always keep TermiPore concealed. Connect it to plain plastic pipe that extend up to the junction box wherefrom the termiticide is to be injected. Place a junction box at every 20-30 meter of TermiPore pipe and please use liquid termiticide only. Use a pump of 1hp/0.3 kg/cm2 to inject termiticide at regular intervals of 2-3 years.
Testing after Installation:
Once the installation is done, please check the pipe by injecting water from the junction box, before covering it with sand, flooring or tiles, using a pump of 1hp/0.3 kg/cm2. This should be done to check that the liquid is reaching everywhere. The flow rate may vary, but that is not a cause of concern. The area all along the pipe should get wet after pumping for 15-20 minutes. If this is not the case, then do the following checks:
- Check if the pipe is squeezed at any sharp beds
- Ensure that the pipe is not in direct contact with cement
- Check if the fixing hooks are too tight, restricting flow
- Check the pump pressure and size of pump used (1hp/0.3 kg/cm2)
- Check that the length of TermiPore used is not more than 30 meters per junction box
Since installation is so simple, often, we are asked if it is a DIY solution. We strongly recommend that you get this installation done by professionals, to avoid missing any nuance. This is a one-time installation; it is better that expert professionals supervise the same. Another thing to keep in mind during treatment is to ensure that only liquid termiticides are used. Avoid using powders dissolved in water for treatment.
